GLENEAGLES
KING'S COURSE

The King's Course at the
Gleneagles Hotel is one of the best-known courses in
Britain, largely because of the power of television. More
tournaments and other golfing promotions have been
televised from the King's than from any other
course--with good reason. It is one of the most beautiful
inland courses in the world.
The King's is laid out on a
wooded moorland plateau in Perthshire. The turf is crisp,
the fairways wide and smooth, the hazards in the main
clearly defined and the course is immaculately groomed.
There are banks of golden gorse and purple heather,
stands of tall pines, and the views in all directions are
superb - the Ochil Hills to the east and south, with the
valley of Glendevon reaching through to Fife; to the
north lie the Grampians, to the west the Trossachs.
With a formidable array of
challenges, including the 161 yard 5th hole, the
"Hot Girdle", and the relentless 13th hole,
this is the longest of the Gleneagles Hotel courses.
